Whiskey Parent Companies

I'm a member of several whiskey groups on social media and the comments about the secondary pricing is shocking. But let's admit, we all have overpaid for that bottle that we "had to have" so don't let it bother you too much. Did I overpay for Blanton's? Of course I did, and while it was a great choice, I won't pay that market price again. But I was guilty in having to see what the hype was about. Only my opinion, but I prefer Knob Creek over Blanton's any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

For those who enjoy Knob Creek, then you realize that it is produced by Beam-Suntory. Four months ago, I tried the Jim Beam Devil's Cut. One of our AWS members, Curt, told me how he noticed a difference in the flavors after opening a bottle.. So last week, I had Devil's Cut again and it tasted even better than the first time.

Don't get caught up in the "must have" or "I need this" mindset. There are plenty of great whiskies, bourbons, and ryes for under $50 a bottle. Go explore and let me know what your new favorites are.
